Together, these components deliver a closed-loop system with the same high performance and reliability as our established ServoStep™ motors, while offering greater design flexibility and environmental adaptability.

The PA0260 encoder operates reliably from –40°C to +105°C, making it suitable for:

In such environments, integrated electronics may overheat or fail, whereas this modular setup allows the controller to be placed in a temperature-controlled cabinet, while the motor can be placed in the harsh environment.

MSP Stepper Motor – Compact Power with Encoder Support
The MSP series is a range of compact stepper motors with integrated M12 connectors and support for external encoders. Key features include:

PA0260 Encoder – High-Resolution Closed Loop Encoder with Absolute Multiturn capability
The PA0260 is a compact, robust magnetic encoder developed by JVL, designed specifically for integration with stepper motors. It offers:
- Resolution up to 65536 CPR (16-bit) for precise positioning
- Temperature range: –40°C to +105°C
- Magnetic sensing – resistant to dust, oil, and vibration
- Absolute Multiturn option
- IP67 protection for harsh environments
Its rugged design and wide temperature tolerance make it ideal for demanding applications where optical encoders would fail.
SMC66 Controller – Advanced Motion Control in a Compact Housing
The SMC66 is a powerful stepper motor controller with encoder feedback support, offering:
- Closed-loop control with encoder input
- Standalone or bus-controlled operation
- Built-in motion profiles (position, velocity, homing)
- Digital and analog I/O
- ePLC™ - Embedded PLC
- DIN rail mountable housing or PCB
