New USB to RS485 Converter

Birkerød, Denmark - JVL A/S, one of the world’s leading producers in the field of integrated servo and stepper motors, has developed an improved USB-to-RS485 converter for the newest MAC motor® series as well as all integrated stepper motors.
Support for all M12 connectors
The converter connects to all our newest MAC motor®s and ServoStep™ as well as the classic integrated steppers QuickStep® no matter the configuration since it has both 5-pin, 8-pin and 17-pin M12 connectors.
MacTalk® is used for monitoring, setup and commissioning of our integrated motors and is also used for programming our embedded PLC, ePLC™.
It is recommended that the service staff should have a serial communication set available. This will ensure that you can establish a secure connection to the motor, as well as perform critical firmware updates. This is also recommended even though you use another type of protocol, like Ethernet, as a fallback communication solution.
When connected to a PC USB port the converter is automatically detected and is installed as a native COM port which is compatible with any existing serial communication application. Multiple converters can be installed when using USB hubs thus allowing a hassle-free configuration of a multi-channel serial system.
Up to 32 devices can be connected in the same RS485 network. Maximum RS485 cable length is up to 1200 m.
NB. If you are using MAC motor® with plug-in modules (type no. "MAC00-xxxx”) you should instead use a USB-to-RS232 converter.
