Can an external encoder be connected ? |
Yes !
Before firmware ver. 2.4:
It is possible to connect an encoder with a channel A and B to input 1 and 2 and use the position from the counting register 170.
To select the external encoder register 124 bit 12 has to be set. Bit 2 and 3 are used to setup this encoder too.
(0,0) = Disable
(1,0) = Quadrature signal
(0,1) = Pulse/direction signal
From firmware ver. 2.4:
Now it's also possible to connect a 32 bit SSI encoder to these pins.
To select the SSI register 124 bit 13 has to be set.
Further more register 107 and 111 are used for setup for the SSI encoder.
