New Stainless Steel, Integrated, "MACTUATOR" electric cylinders from JVL are IP69k and USDA Certified for Food and Beverage Processing

Birkerød, Denmark -- JVL’s Integrated MACTUATORTMelectric cylinders are ideal for food and beverage processing equipment used in
caustic washdown environments, where corrosion resistance, intrusion protection
and hygienic design are critical. MACTURTORTMelectric cylinders feature smooth edges, stainless-steel construction, welded
joints, and a bracket design to prevent contamination of the work environment.
These design features have earned the MACTUATORTM 25 and MACTUATORTM30, USDA certifications for meat, poultry, and dairy processing applications.
Actuator + motor + controller + encoder +
fieldbus communication = The Integrated MACTUATORTM electric
cylinder. It is the world’s first totally
integrated actuator with IP67k or IP69k protection. An economical, efficient rod-style electric
actuator designed as an alternative to pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders, they
are suitable for applications including: Volumetric filling, cutting, product
changeovers, diverting/sorting, pressing, etc.
"Six sizes of MACTUATORTM electric cylinders are available with 300-series stainless steel and IP67 or
IP69k options, making them the only catalog stainless-steel electric actuator

USDA-certified design of the MACTUATORTM25 and 30 electric cylinders
make them a perfect choice for the food and beverage processing market.”
Available in six body sizes, with stroke
lengths to 1000 mm, speeds to 1500 mm/sec., and forces to 20.03 kN their options
include: Ball screws, roller screws and acme screws for a variety of cost,
force, speed and life options to fit most applications. MAC Integrated Servo
motors or QuickStep Integrated Stepper motors can be mounted inline with the
actuator or in a reverse-parallel motor mount that makes a more compact package
with belt reduction options that offer flexibility in sizing the motor. "With
the expanded force range, the MACTUATORTM electric cylinders can
handle more demanding jobs and replace most pneumatic cylinders,” said Kenneth.
"As an economical electric actuator platform, MACTUATORTM electric
cylinders provide excellent efficiency and operating flexibility over pneumatic
counterparts.”
MACTUATORTM electric cylinders
follow the design of most pneumatic actuators in this performance class for
easy integration in new and existing applications. Featuring an oversized main
bearing to accommodate high thrust loads and long life, they are made of
stainless steel for high rigidity and corrosion resistance. A metric-threaded nose mount accepts a jam nut
that provides mounting for many applications. Other mounting options include: Rear
clevis, rear trunnion mount, foot mounts, and front flange mount.
There are six sensing or switching options:
Reed, solid state PNP (sourcing) or solid state NPN (sinking), normally open,
flying leads or quick-disconnect. Switches
are activated by a standard internal magnet located inside the thrust tube.
Commonly used for end-of-stroke positioning, these switches allow clamp-on
installation anywhere along the actuator tube. All switches are CE rated and
are RoHS compliant for environmental compatibility.
