When we use the MAC400-4500 we often want to run them in gear mode ( Master slave mode ).
With the simple MAC00-B4 or -B41 modules we can just connect and incremental encoder or a PLC with pulse direction signals to the multifunction IO ( MF1 ) and put the slave in gear mode and the slave will then follow the encoder or PLC signals.
Sometimes we also need this functionallity when using the Ethernet modules - MAC00-Ex41.
These modules use the MF1 for communication between module and motor so we need to set the motor up to use the multifunction IO 2 ( MF2 ) instead.
To generate encoder pulses we can also use another MAC400 with B4, B41 or Ex41 module.
This is done in this example.
For that purpose we also need to move the encoder pulses to the right pins.
Example:
These settings are made in 2 small programs one for the slave and one for the master.
Slave: Setup the multifunction IO 2 - In.
Master: Setup the multifunction IO 2 - Out
