Temperature

Below table show working temperature for stepper motor. JVL motors use better components and ball bearings than Chinese motors. MIS34x and MST34x use same raw stepper motor with class B (130 ºC / 266 ºF) and have same performance. Because MIS34x have internal controller PCB are the working temperature lower than the non integrated stepper motor MST

Temperature depend on duty cycle and current etc so you can only find the limit by testing it.

MST23xB02 (2)
MST34xB02 (2)
Stepper motor
MIS34xxx

Integrated Stepper

Motor Outside max temperature
100 ºC / 212 ºF
Typical 65 ºC /149 ºF (1)
Motor Inside max temperature
130 ºC / 266 ºF
Typical 95 ºC / 203 ºF (1)
Electronics max temperature before closing down
-
85 ºC / 185 ºF
Motor class
Class B which is 130 ºC /266 ºF
Class B which is 130 ºC / 266 ºF but electronic close down at 85 ºC /185 ºF
Remark
Outside motor surface temperature can be 100 ºC / 212 ºF that correspond to inside temperature of almost 130 ºC / 266 ºF.
Stepper motors can be quite hot and work for years also at 100 ºC / 212 ºF surface temperature.
MIS motor use industrial grade components but close down if internal PCB temperature exceed 85 ºC / 185 ºF.
(1) Can be higher but depend upon duty cyle and motor current etc so to find the exact temperature will it demand a test to see when the internal temperature exceed 85 ºC / 185 ºF.
(2) For OEM order above 25 pcs. we offer a high temperature motor class E that can handle inside motor temperature 180 ºC / 356 ºF and outside motor temperature 150 ºC / 302 ºF. This is done by changing grease in bearing and change insulator material to paper instead of plastic.
